Flipkart, Amazon Set to Modernize Fashion Portfolios in Order to Increase Sales

Amazon India and Flipkart are refurbishing new fashion categories and they have planned to launch additional private brands. They are now hunting for exclusive partnership in order to boost their sales and to gain high margins than televisions and smartphones.
Amazon India has decided to expand its portfolio for its newer product lines in order to make it look different from the rest like FlipKart and their owned retailers like Jabong and Myntra. Amazon has already taken a step further in its decision by signing a partnership with some of the leading brands like Arrow, Swarovski and Aeropostale on certain product lines.
The head of fashion, Arun Sirdeshmukh at Amazon India says that they are still in the early stages where they still need a lot of time in bringing their building blocks together. They have a long list regarding their product lines on their table, which would soon be added to these brands.
The vice president of Flipkart Rishi Vasudev says that they are just not focusing on bringing more styles at Flipkart, but also have decided in improving the selections further for which Flipkart has now tied up with Colors TV channel as a part of their re-launch campaign. The revamped fashion of Flipkart would be live from Tuesday and there would be a big launch campaign to promote their revamp in the first week of January.
Flipkart has bought a whole new fresh line of fashion for all kinds of people. Flipkart has been associated with some of the influences right from film magazines, TV celebs, Bollywood, as well as international trends to have more and better selections, says Vasudev who is the Vice President of Flipkart.
Amazon has also decided to expand its fashion stores rapidly. It has targeted categories such as the online retailers who can enjoy high margins on their sales. It’s time for Amazon to pull up its socks and reinvent some ideas regarding the fashion stores to compete with Myntra, Flipkart and Jabong as they currently dominate the sales online in the fashion category with respect to shoes, apparel and accessories. Amazon has new products that have been added to the fashion category this season.
